Components of Reading Road AI Tutor

1. Read

After working through a printed Reading Road book, students log onto the Reading Road AI Tutor (hosted on Sunshine Online). They read and record the passage given from the book, rerecording as many times as they wish to develop fluency. The Reading Road AI Tutor then gives the student a score out of five stars, reflecting the fluency of the student’s reading of the passage.

2. Practice

The Reading Road AI Tutor also analyses 10 focus words as a spot check to see how well the students can read them. The Reading Road AI Tutor then gives feedback on those 10 focus words, and gives the student the opportunity to practise reading any that they got wrong.

3. Teacher Review

In the Teacher Administration area, teachers see a summary of results from books the student has worked on, and they can listen to the student’s recordings of their practice words. This feedback highlights knowledge gaps that teachers can help the student address and guides teachers on the best next steps for the student.
